POWER OF ATTORNEY

The Consulate is authorized to draw up and verify in due form a notary act (power of attorney) by which one or several persons grant another person(s) the power to act on their behalf. Stating the will in the presence of a responsible consular officer is a main prerequisite for drawing up a notary act.

The principal can amend or revoke the power of attorney at any time. The signatures affixed to a respective document revoking the power of attorney are also subject to notarial verification.

In order to perform power of attorney please make an appointment at the Consulate General of Georgia.

Please bring the following documents:

  1. Copy of the valid Georgian passport or ID card;
  2. 10 USD money order written out to the Consulate General of Georgia.

Please note that in order to perform power of attorney, the person who is granting the power to act on his/her behalf and the recipient of such act must be Georgian citizens with valid passports or ID cards.

 

SIGNATURE AUTHENTICATION

This service provides the verification of the authenticity of signatures affixed to various applications or documents. Verification of signatures does not imply verification of facts contained in the document.

The Consulate General can only verify the authenticity of signatures of citizens of Georgia or stateless persons with respective status in Georgia.

The service fee per signature for each person is 5 USD payable by money order written out to the Consulate General of Georgia in New York.

In order to perform signature authentication please make an appointment

Please bring the following documents:

  1. Copy of the valid Georgian passport or ID card;
  2. 5 USD money order written out to the Consulate General of Georgia for every signature authentication.

 

CERTIFICATION OF THE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT

A consular officer is authorized to certify the compliance of a copy of the document with the original. It is also possible to certify a copy of the duly certified copy of the document.

The Consulate can only perform notary activities with respect to citizens of Georgia or stateless persons with respective status in Georgia.

The service fee for certifying each copy is 3 USD payable by money order written out to the Consulate General of Georgia in New York.

In order to certify the copy of a document with the original please make an appointment

Please bring the following documents:

  1. Copy of the valid Georgian passport or ID card;
  2. 3 USD money order written out to the Consulate General of Georgia for each copy.
